What WatchRoom Does

WatchRoom is a browser extension that identifies purchasable products visible in movies and TV shows. It overlays product information on supported streaming sites so you can discover and shop for items you see on screen.

Data We Collect

• Media detection data: The title of the movie or show you're watching and the current playback timecode. This is used to look up product information from our catalog.
• Scene requests: When you use the "Flag It" feature, we log the media title and timecode so we can identify products in that scene for future viewers.
• Saved products: Products you save are stored locally in your browser using Chrome storage. We do not upload your saved list to our servers.
• Extension settings: Your toggle preferences (show dots, pause on click, category mode) are stored locally in your browser.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identity information.
• We do not track your browsing history outside of product detection on supported streaming sites.
• We do not record, capture, or transmit any video or audio content from your screen.
• We do not sell any data to third parties.
• We do not use your data for advertising or personalized ad targeting.

Affiliate Links

Product buy links in WatchRoom may contain affiliate tracking parameters (e.g., Amazon Associates). When you click a buy link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund the service. We track aggregate click counts for revenue reporting but do not associate clicks with individual users.

Third-Party Services

WatchRoom communicates with our API server (watchroom.ai) to look up product data. We do not embed third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking pixels in the extension.

Data Security

All communication between the extension and our servers uses HTTPS encryption. Local data is stored using Chrome's built-in storage API, which is sandboxed to the extension.

Supported Streaming Sites

WatchRoom operates on: Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Disney+, Max, Amazon Prime Video, Peacock, and Apple TV+. The extension only activates its content script on these specific domains. It does not run on any other websites.

Your Choices

• You can disable the extension at any time through Chrome settings.
• You can clear all locally saved data by removing the extension.
• You can toggle overlay dots and pause-on-click behavior from the extension popup.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as the product evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
